Family-run Mediterranean/Turkish café-bar in Sagene Samfunnshus, started in 2005 by a mother who wanted a place where you could eat in peace with children. A newly renovated play corner inside and a children's menu (including blueberry pancakes and pasta).

Artisan bakery with great bread, pastries, and freshly pressed juice. Hosts "New-Parent Tuesday" every Tuesday from 9am to 11am, a calm, inclusive meetup for parents on parental leave and their babies. It is free and comes with 20 percent off food and drink, but pauses in June, July and August.

Titt-tei
Børsteveien 13, 0585 Oslo
Combined café and play room for children aged 0-6. The café bakes all its cakes and sweets in house and also serves more filling food such as bagels, waffles and salads. The play room is a separate zone with its own entrance and a wooden play structure; tickets are bought at the counter and cost 40 kroner for 30 minutes, 80 for an hour and 140 for two hours. They take bookings for children's birthdays and family gatherings such as christenings and naming ceremonies, and from autumn 2026 there will be doula-led courses and workshops for parents and small children. Closed on Tuesdays. Summer hours are in effect and will change in the autumn, so check Google before you go (that is the venue's own advice). Prices and opening hours were given by Titt-tei themselves on 5 August 2026.

A large street food hall right in the middle of the Barcode area next to Oslo S, with around 14 different food stalls offering dishes from around the world, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Has its own play area for children. The play area has its own opening hours: it is open until 16:00 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and until 20:00 on other days (last checked 25 July 2026).

Kafé Oslo (Litteraturhuset)

The cafe inside the House of Literature, serving everything from snacks to full meals. The same building holds the free children's room Sjeherasad for children up to 7, with a child-sized door, cushions and hundreds of picture books. On «Children's Saturday» they open the room and set up a children's cafe with hot dogs and waffles, reading sessions and concerts. There have been reports that prams are not allowed inside the cafe, and that no changing facilities were found.
