First birthday party in Oslo

Your one-year-old will not remember the day, and that is fine: the first birthday is really a celebration for the adults who made it through year one. Keep it short and simple, ideally mid-morning around nap time, with grandparents and the closest circle rather than a full guest list.

Home is easiest, but a roomy café works well if floor space is tight - see our guide to cafés with pram parking. In summer, a blanket at a shady playground is the best party venue in town, and completely free.

The venues below host birthdays and welcome the very youngest, but few people book a venue for a one-year-old. Think of them as inspiration for the years ahead.
