What is OsloFamilie?
A guide to Oslo for people with children: playgrounds, activities, places to eat that work with small kids, kindergartens, holiday camps and guides. Free, no paywall, no account needed. For places to eat, we list what decides whether a visit works: changing table, high chair, room for a pram, step-free entrance and play corner, each marked as known, unknown or absent. Automatic jobs go through the entries every week, and readers correct us when something has changed.

On top of that come the kindergartens' outdoor areas, 102 school playgrounds and 7 indoor play spaces, 1,995 places to play in all.
Who do you reach?
Parents in Oslo, and especially those on parental leave. Leave runs for more than two hundred days, and those days have to be filled with something. Much of it happens on weekday mornings, when there is room everywhere and the planning gets done on a phone while the baby sleeps. 131,594 children under 18 live in Oslo (Statistics Norway, 2026), and every year a new group goes on leave.
The whole site exists in English, and the English pages account for around one in eight of the times we are shown in Google. That is both English speakers living here and visitors planning their days in Oslo. Oslo had 6.9 million commercial overnight stays in 2025, the most of any county (Statistics Norway). The share of readers from abroad is highest in summer.

The listings cannot be bought
Who is listed, and what we have written about them, is not for sale. The order of the listings is shuffled with a weekly seed that is the same for every visitor.
What you can buy is a card of your own at the top, marked Partner. The list below is untouched: we move no one, we add. You also keep your ordinary place in it.
Two ways to be a partner

A card of your own at the top of the category you are in, marked Partner. Suits a single business that wants to be seen by people looking for exactly what you offer.
Section partner
One partner per section, for example parental-leave activities or organised activities: visible on the category page and the guides that belong to it, clearly marked. The guides get more clicks from Google per view than single listings, and that is where a section partner appears. The list stays untouched here too.
Most people arrive straight from a search
OsloFamilie turns up in Google for more than a thousand different searches, from «indoor play centre oslo» to «baby swimming lovisenberg». No single page carries the site, and no viral week is holding it up.
A social media ad interrupts someone who was doing something else. Here it is the other way round: the parent has already decided to do something, and is sitting there looking for where.
Search traffic also does not vanish the day a campaign stops. New pages are picked up quickly: of the latest pages we submitted to Google, 15 out of 15 were indexed within a few days. We are happy to share current figures on request.
