Voksen og Bogstad skole, Vestre Aker

The school band for Voksen and Bogstad schools, and one of the very best in the country - it has won the first division of the Norwegian school band championship. Children start as aspirants, usually in second or third grade, and get an instrument on loan plus a dedicated instructor for it. A school band is one of few activities where children play in an ensemble from the first year, and where the 17 May parade is the highlight.
