String orchestra for children and young people, with five levels from preaspirant to chamber orchestra. Every pupil plays in an orchestra, and all of them can also take individual lessons with a teacher. No prior experience is needed, the first instrument is lent out free of charge, and new pupils get one free trial lesson before deciding.

The institute rehearses in two places: the preaspirant, aspirant and junior orchestras at Steinerskolen på Nordstrand on Wednesdays, and the main and chamber orchestras at Oslo by steinerskole in St. Olavs gate 4 on Thursdays. Orchestra fees for the 2026/2027 school year run from 1,500 kroner for the preaspirants up to 6,700 kroner for the chamber orchestra, plus a 500 kroner family membership fee, with a 20 per cent sibling discount. Individual lessons cost extra, from 187 kroner for 15 minutes. Renting a larger instrument costs 1,000 kroner a year.
