A mine train 2.3 kilometres into the mountain, then 342 metres below ground in what was Norway's largest silver mine. The journey in is in open carriages and children are given helmets. It stays cool year-round, around six degrees, so bring a jumper even in July. The mine was worked for 335 years. About an hour and a half from Oslo.
