Økern bad

Bad

Økern Torgvei 2, 0580 Oslo

Municipal swimming pool at Økern with a single 25-metre pool, 1.10 to 1.60 metres deep and 28 degrees. There is no splash pool, no slide and no shallow end where the smallest children can stand, so this is a pool for children who can swim. On weekdays some of the six lanes are set aside for organised swimming lessons and training during parts of the day, but most remain free, so bathing is perfectly possible then too. At weekends all lanes are free. The city publishes a separate page showing when the pool may be occupied. Changing rooms with lockers (bring your own padlock), a family changing room that can also be used by disabled visitors, and a pool hoist. Children must be over 10 and able to swim to bathe on their own; younger children and non-swimmers must be under the continuous supervision of a swimming-capable adult over 18. From the age of 7 a child may not follow a parent into the changing room for the opposite sex. Opening hours are published week by week, so check the city's page before you go.
