A large outdoor artificial ice rink at Helsfyr, with a 400 metre speed skating oval and a bandy rink inside it. The city says the rink is free and open to the public most of the time, meaning outside fixed training slots. In summer the same surface is a concrete area for other sports.

There are staffed changing rooms, a kiosk and skate rental in the evenings and at weekends, while daytime rental is arranged with Aktiv Skøyteklubb, preferably two days ahead. The public hours listed on 3 October 2026: Monday 11am to 10pm, Tuesday 2pm to 10pm, Wednesday and Thursday 10am to 10pm, Friday 10am to 9pm, Saturday 11am to 6pm and Sunday 11am to 7pm. Admission is free every day throughout the season. The hours can change during the season, so check the calendar of public hours before you go.
